How many students will be selected?
#
We plan to select 20 students for the 2019 program. That number may change based on the number of qualified applications we receive. The students will be placed in groups of 4 into 5 different host agencies/businesses.
Will transportation be provided?
#
Students and/or their families will be responsible for transporting them to and from the kickoff event and each day of the internship program. We understand that transportation can be a challenge for some students. That’s why one of the changes this year will be to recruit 4 students from each high school, to increase the likelihood that families can collaborate on a carpool. We hope that this will reduce some of the burden on students’ families.
Will meals be provided?
#
Lunch will be provided to students and families at the Saturday kickoff event. However, students should pack a lunch for themselves each day during the work week. Agencies who plan to provide lunch for students on a certain day will try to notify them in advance.
Will students be paid?
#
Students will be awarded a small stipend at the end of the work week by their host organization.
Is there a financial obligation for students?
#
There is no financial obligation for students to apply. Materials needed for students to successfully complete this program will be provided by the host agency.
What is the dress code?
#
Students will be working in professional environments and should come to work each day in business casual attire.
